Trevor is a young man who has decided to pursue technical photography full time. He's all in. His current plan to grow this career via Patreon. His contribution to this project was irreplaceable. He volunteered to help make this video by proposing it to me several months ago and emailing me the coordinates, not knowing that we were already working on it with my buddy Matt Whitman who was miraculously able to get us access. When I told Trevor at the end of this project that it was likely he would have several more Patrons as a result of this effort, it was clear that it had not even crossed his mind. It is my sincere hope that this YouTube comment enables him to pursue a career in technical photography by pairing up hundreds of willing contributors to his work. He photographs Space-X launches, and all things aerospace..... seriously...he was introduced to me by an astronaut. This young man is legit, and his work will not disappoint you. He is going places, and it would be awesome if you checked out his stuff and decided if it's worth investing in someone who is humble and works hard. Also, he can print this picture for you.

Please consider supporting Trevor at: https://www.patreon.com/trevormahlmann
At the time of this comment, Trevor is driving across the wilds of Wyoming without cell phone coverage and he has 29 Patrons.

seriously cool, you successfully planed & executed the trip, got a lifetime cool experience for you, your family & several friends, & recorded it to share a majorly cool experience with millions who couldn't be there... excellent.
sandy (my cat) & i went to see the eclipse near st louis so i could combine that with a trip to visit family nearby, i got a good view, but i couldn't get sandy to wear solar safe glasses, so she hadda stay in the motel.

Yeah, without a doubt, the eclipse was incredible. I saw it here in Kentucky. I think the sky was a bit darker here than what they show there in Wyoming, perhaps because it was longer?

There is no reason to deal with flat Earthers. They have removed themselves from the conversation. They aren't making policy or shaking the foundations of the scientific world. They are just background noise. The only attention they get is what we give them. There are zero serious people allowing them to have input in areas where it actually matters whether or not the Earth is flat. They can contribute to a cook book. They can contribute to music and art. They can contribute to cleaning up the city. They can do many many things. They aren't going to be designing any space elevators or putting payloads into orbit, and they will never be part of either of the conversations which have any impact on how we do those things, and if they do - then they aren't really flat Earthers. You don't have to worry about that. Someone who believes that the Earth is flat.....I mean REALLY believes that, and attempts to come up with a procedure to put an object in orbit - will fail 100% of the time, so if they want to come onto a Youtube video and reject that the ISS exists and insists that the world is flat, let them. They will never.....ever...contribute in this area. Ever. At best, they are a distraction, and only if you let them be one, and the best way to allow them to be a distraction is by "dealing" with them when they've already dealt themselves out of the hand.

Well, the ISS is a lot bigger than a bus. It's the size of a football field. The camera he is using here in this video is REALLY zoomed in, and has the unbelievably bright sun as a backdrop, so the contrast makes it easy to see. The same applies to when you can see it with your naked eyes. You won't be able to see the ISS if it orbits over your head in the middle of the day - or in the middle of the night. The only time you can see it is just after sunset or just before sunrise. Basically, it has to be dark on the surface, but the ISS overhead is still in sunlight. It is easy to see because of the contrast between the dark surrounding sky, and then the brightly sunlit sky reflecting light.

And just for the record, the actual angular size of the stars are far smaller than the ISS, and we can clearly still see them.
